Bosch fuel filters provide a long life of the engine
- Increased fuel consumption and a drop in engine power may indicate a problem with the fuel filter
- Bosch fuel filters detain particles smaller than 0.01 mm
- Only a high-quality filter allows you to meet the service intervals specified by the automaker
The main problem for the fuel system is the different and not always constant quality of fuel in different regions. As a result of clogging of the fuel filter, the fuel supply deteriorates, the productivity of the fuel pump decreases, the engine parts wear out until the engine stops completely. As a rule, the first signs of problems with the fuel filter - the car is badly started, there may be jerking when driving, loss of power and dynamics when overtaking.
What is effective filtering?
Bosch fuel filters help protect the most expensive engine components. Modern diesel and petrol injection systems operate in the micron range, so even the smallest foreign particles can lead to premature wear. Bosch fuel filters retard even microscopic particles a few thousandths of a millimeter in size and provide optimum performance and a long service life of the fuel system and engine components.
Protection from contamination is provided by a multilayer filter material, which consists of a layer of cellulose, special resin impregnation and polyester fiber.
The efficiency of the Bosch multilayer filter materials is 99%, the contamination capacity that can accumulate the filter element before reaching the maximum pressure difference is 15.34 g (the test was performed according to SAE J905 on a 77041WS filter at 0.7 bar pressure). In a low-quality cheap filter, the maximum contamination capacity can be 1.46 g - the lifetime is almost 10 times lower compared to Bosch filters.
According to Bosch research, the efficiency of low-quality filters is at the level of 70% compared to 95% for Bosch filters (ISO TR 13355, particle size 3-5 nm). This means that such filters let in the fuel system 6 times more contamination compared to Bosch filters.
Replacing the fuel filter in accordance with the service intervals established by the automaker will save the performance and ensure a long service life of the engine, provided a quality filter is used. The cost of replacing a set of fuel injectors or a high-pressure fuel pump is more than 20 times higher than the cost of a quality fuel filter.
